History

It all started with the winning of 2 first class Continental RTW tickets from the American Express Wishlist way back in 2007 equivalently delivered with 560K miles. 6 years later with the merger of United and Continental, topping off the account to 700K miles with credit card offers, and a planned Leave of Absence from work, this trip is actually taking place starting 4/3/2013 and ending 6/28/2013.

Phuket is Magical

Its going to be very hard to describe the magic of this place except to sum up that its warm all day and night (quite hot actually), extremely pretty, has amazing food, has extremely friendly people, has crystal clear warm waters, a quirky happening nightlife, and is still somehow relaxing. We've enjoyed our time here and could definitely deal with a few more days, but we head to Bangkok tomorrow.  Please enjoy the pictures from Phuket.

Amazing Thai dinner in an amazing outdoor setting.

Quite possibly the best dumpling ever, and its purple to add to the excitement!

Day trip to the Phi Phi Islands (snorkeling, beaches, monkeys, pretty as can be)

Fresh coconut water absolutely needed in this heat!

A beautiful peacock right on our hotel property

Fruits galore, we've sampled everything we can get our hands on. The Mangos and Mangosteens are to dye for here! There are also plenty of other crazy fruits and tastes! One item we found literally tastes like caramel custard (amazing and don't know what it is called)

Dragon fruit and rambutans

Our assortment we bought and brought back to the room for snacking

A random Thai temple in Karon

  3. Haven't tried the Durian yet! We will try in Bangkok on the street cause here you basically would need to buy the whole fruit which is big and tough to get into!
