The Yellow Pin is where we currently are, with some delay. Points of interest will also be added as we visit them and lodging ones are already there. Click on blue flight segment lines for flight info and real time tracking (lighter segments are completed). Red Segments have train info and green are for car segments.

History

It all started with the winning of 2 first class Continental RTW tickets from the American Express Wishlist way back in 2007 equivalently delivered with 560K miles. 6 years later with the merger of United and Continental, topping off the account to 700K miles with credit card offers, and a planned Leave of Absence from work, this trip is actually taking place starting 4/3/2013 and ending 6/28/2013.

Aussie Wildlife

The creatures and animals here are certainly unique, and it was quite a blast to get to see many of them up close.

Lemur from Hyde Park in Sydney (They replace squirrels here)

Tree Frog

Some sort of monkey

Aussie Pelican

Red Kangaroo

Sun Bear

They really like to lounge about in the sun.
Seeing them hop is very cool as they look lighter than air.
Up close with a male Koala. "Benny" is his name and these are just amazing to watch and are too cute. They also need 800 trees worth of Eucalyptus leaves a year to live. Its all they eat, the only animal that can eat it, and only the top young leaves.

The Tasmanian Devil, seems cute enough...

Wide Breasted Eagle - 2nd largest in Australia

Feeding a parakeet.

  1. How cute the Koala bear is. The pelican is very pretty but the koala steals the show
