The Yellow Pin is where we currently are, with some delay. Points of interest will also be added as we visit them and lodging ones are already there. Click on blue flight segment lines for flight info and real time tracking (lighter segments are completed). Red Segments have train info and green are for car segments.

History

It all started with the winning of 2 first class Continental RTW tickets from the American Express Wishlist way back in 2007 equivalently delivered with 560K miles. 6 years later with the merger of United and Continental, topping off the account to 700K miles with credit card offers, and a planned Leave of Absence from work, this trip is actually taking place starting 4/3/2013 and ending 6/28/2013.

Aix-En-Provence - A Must

You must come here, you must stay at Maison Dauphine, and you must eat at Ze Bistro. Aix-En-Provence is wonderful. Its relaxed, beautiful, full of great shopping, art, architecture, and fountains on every corner. There are fresh food markets every day, and the restaurants benefit from this for sure. We have had an amazing 2 nights here. Maison Dauphine is one of the best apartments we've stayed at and we've had an amazing quality French meal at Ze Bistro which is the most relaxed (what we would rate a 3 star Michelin) restaurant.

Tomorrow we move on to Barcelona, but we are not done with France yet, after Barcelona and Madrid we have Paris on the list for 6 nights. We decided to take a flight from Marseille instead of the train since its a very long train ride and we've now seen what can happen when trains are delayed.
