History


It all started with the winning of 2 first class Continental RTW tickets from the American Express Wishlist way back in 2007 equivalently delivered with 560K miles. 6 years later with the merger of United and Continental, topping off the account to 700K miles with credit card offers, and a planned Leave of Absence from work, this trip is actually taking place starting 4/3/2013 and ending 6/28/2013.

Zurich

It's time to leave Zurich and head down to Taormina in Sicily. Zurich
has been quite cold and rainy, so we are looking forward to the
warmth. We now have 1 month left in our Journey.

Zurich is a pretty city by the lake and has waterways along many areas
that are quite nice, although it really causes complicated roads and
intersections. There are a lot of pretty churches and museums here,
but not a lot of other sightseeing. They love their sweets and
chocolate and we certainly have had some of the best of them here. A
traditional fondue dinner was also very tasty. It's hands down the
most expensive place we have been, even compared to Sydney. A
McDonald's meal is $12 for instance.
